Who wants Fortnite and PUBG rip-offs? Yeah, no one but still!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, at least that is what Charles Caleb Colton believes, but I don’t think he was speaking about video games back in the 19th century.
So is it though? Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery? Well, within the world of gaming, the quick answer would be… NO! For the most part, we have seen so many clones and cash grabs. We’ve had the likes of Bubsy and the many, many Mortal Kombat ripoffs.
However, over the past year or so, we have seen the Battle Royale genre explode, and naturally, loads of knockoffs have been released as well. There are hundreds of them now, just search ‘Battle Royale’ on your app store and boom!
So, here are five of the worst PUBG and Fortnite ripoffs.
Ultimate Battle Royale PvP
The name alone should tell you what this is all about. Incredibly though, this is 86 on the IOS Strategy games list. Between the many adverts, you will be treated to a really poor mobile BR. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, and I was still let down by how bad it appeared, played and performed.
Obviously, with it being free to play, it has in-game purchases which make it pay to win – almost.
So bad. So bad in fact, that I got an advert AFTER KILLING SOMEONE!
As Fortnite and PUBG rip-offs go, this is pretty awful.
Last Man Standing
A clear PUBG and H1Z1 rip off but one that actually had potential. Sadly, the servers, the gameplay and the community are absolute garbage to the point where you will be lucky to find a game right now.
Ring of Elysium
Now, this one is a bit weird because the devs who made this made the PUBG mobile game. Thing is though, Ring of Elysium is EXACTLY like PUBG. From the mechanics to the gunplay, and even the art design. Ironically though, this actually runs smoother on PC.
Still, a total rip off.
Hahaha. The name says it all really doesn’t it? Fort… Craft! You know, like Fortnite and Minecraft, because the kids will love that! The thing is though, this isn’t just a ripoff, it is a blatant copy, from the art style to the weapons and even the character models!
How this is still available in app stores, and developers Netease haven’t been sued yet is totally beyond me.
Easily one of the worst Fortnite and PUBG rip-offs
Rules of Modern Survival WW2 Fortnite Battleground
Imagine what the guys at Octa Games Studio were up to when they came up with THIS as a title for their game.
Well, I mean for SEO purposes they have got WW2, Fortnite and Battleground in there, so that is impressive.
The game, on the other hand, is not. It actually isn’t a BR game, at least not from what I can see. It does, however, take just about everything away from every other game.
