There are still 4 new Smash Bros Ultimate DLC characters to be announced and many rumors have surfaced. One of these is the possibility of Edelgard in Smash Bros Ultimate. Edelgard is one of three main characters which the upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Houses revolves around. A hint from Edelgard voice actor Cristina Vee’s Twitter may give this more weight.

Is Cristina Vee Voicing Edelgard In Smash Bros Ultimate?

Cristina Vee’s Tweet states she’s about to work on one of the biggest games ever. Of course, with Vee’s body of work, this could be anything from Overwatch to the Legend of Zelda. However, it does add some interest to the rumor of Edelgard in Smash Bros Ultimate.

A Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Leak from November states that Edelgard could be in the DLC roster. The leak also mentioned characters such as Joker from Persona 5 (now confirmed), Sylux from Metroid Prime, and Crono from Chrono Trigger.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is one of Nintendo’s biggest releases for 2019. Edelgard in Smash Bros Ultimate would help to promote the game.

It’s also interesting to note that in a recent interview (translated on NintendoEverything), Sakurai shows interest in having an axe-wielding character.

Protagonists sure do love their swords – you’d think using an axe from time to time would be okay, wouldn’t it?

This could be another hint for Edelgard, who uses axes in battle.

Shantae In Super Smash Bros Ultimate?

Edelgard isn’t the only possible Super Smash Bros Ultimate character Cristina Vee voices. She’s also the voice of Shantae, the titular witch of the Shantae series.

Shantae was one of the most requested DLC characters in the previous Smash 4 ballot. Since then, she made it into Smash Bros Ultimate as a Spirit. However, she could be another possible DLC Fighter in the future.

So far, the most likely bet for the next Smash Bros Ultimate DLC character is Erdrick. However, if Cristina Vee is indeed doing voice work for Smash Bros Ultimate, Edelgard could well be the character to come after.
