New games modes coming to Fortnite!

After the success – and fun – of the temporary Fortnite game modes such as 50 vs 50, Splodes only and Snipers only, it appears the devs are ready to introduce even more limited playlists.

This weekend saw another huge bump in popularity of the third-person Battle Royale game, with streamers such as Ninja pulling in 60,000 concurrent viewers and DR Disrespect not far behind as he briefly dabbled in the game.

And with the waves of new players coming to the game, it looks like in the next few weeks, they will get their first taste of the speciality playlists that are lots of fun and a great way to keep the game fresh.

Three of the best Fortnite players and streamers

In a post on Fortnite’s website, the team revealed that they will be bringing in more ‘Limited Time Modes’ to the game which could include things such as ‘the floor is lava’, ‘blitz’, which appears to be a shorter game mode and ‘land in the first circle’.

And there will also be a reintroduction of the 50vs50 game mode, with improvements to it such as:

  • Closer to the 50v50 Trailer experience
  • Split to start
  • Converge on Battle
  • Bus for each team
  • See all your squadmates on the map
  • More supply drops

The team also revealed that they will be using the LTMs as a place to test new shooting models and mechanics before deciding on whether or not they should be implemented into the base game.

Server issues ‘addressed’

Also in the post, it appears that the Fornite dev team are well aware of the ongoing issues with server stability following the release of their two most recent patches to the game. They have addressed the issue, claiming that “it is not acceptable” and they have now changed their plans for when it comes to the release of updates.

Originally, updates had been released at 6 pm GMT – when the game would be at its peak across not only the UK but most of Europe as well. This led to the game servers struggling to cope with the sheer volume of players wanting to get back on to the test out the new additions to the game – resulting in server backlogs and the Epic Launcher not responding.
