The top CS:GO players of 2018 may be largely dominated by one team, but there have been plenty of standout performances this year. With upcoming players making their mark and some of the best years ever for some CS:GO legends, 2018 has been a big year for Counter-Strike. Here are the top 10 CS:GO players of 2018.

Top 10 CS:GO Players 2018

10. coldzera

It’s been a rough year for coldzera. Once widely considered the best CS:GO player in the world, constant MIBR roster changes and inconsistent team performances have seen him fall behind. Despite that, he’s still one of the top 10 best CS:GO players of 2018 with a 1.16 rating and +596 rating at Big Events.

9. Xyp9x

While Xyp9x is statistically the lowest-rated player on Astralis, his impact can’t be underestimated. He won 76 clutches in 2018- more than any other player. His skills in winning rounds for his team are a big part of their incredible success.

8. Dupreeh

Another major factor in the unprecedented reign of Astralis. The Danish entry fragger consistently scores strongly at events, despite being overshadowed by other players.

7. Gla1ve

As the IGL for Astralis, gla1ve deserves a ton of credit. The team has won countless events this year with gla1ve leading them. He also has amazing stats for his position, with a rating of 1.13 making him the best fragging IGL by far.

6. electronic

Denis ‘electronic’ Sharipov just turned 20 this year and has already established himself as a top player. With a Major final and multiple event wins in 2018, electronic has the potential to grow even further in years to come.

5. Magisk

Behind star player dev1ce, Magisk has had the most impressive stats in the world #1 team this year. His performance at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon 2018 saw him pick up his first ever MVP trophy.

4. NAF

NAF is one of the top 10 CS:GO players of 2018 and perhaps the most underrated CS:GO player right now. His 1.17 rating at Big Events puts him just behind the top 3, and he also scores well across the HLTV Scoreboards. NAF was the Supernova CS:GO Malta MVP and only went under a 1.00 rating in one event this entire year.

3. NiKo

While the end of 2018 has been less than stellar for FaZe Clan, NiKo has still been one of the best players of the year. His Big Event rating of 1.25 is the second highest this year. We’ll see if the upcoming FaZe roster changes help his performance in 2019.

2. Dev1ce

Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz has set CS:GO records with Astralis this year. He’s won 10 trophies this year, 7 MVP medals, and become one of the first to win a million in CS:GO prize pools. It’d seem impossible to beat his 2018 performance, but one man begs to differ.

1. S1mple

The HLTV Leaderboards do a good job at putting s1mple’s 2018 performance into perspective. He has a 1.34 rating, beating NiKo’s 1.25 by far. His kill to death difference of +1104 is also vastly higher than dev1ce’s +809.

He also has the highest damage per round, total kills, most opening kills and is second in clutches to Xyp9x. It’s impossible to beat dev1ce’s team accomplishments. But in terms of individual performances, s1mple is the best CS:GO player of 2018.
