Mixwell joins Movistar Riders giving them a strong looking side.
Spanish esports side Movistar Riders have revealed their new CS:GO line up. Various outlets rumoured the team would be looking for almost an entirely new squad, with former Optic Gaming’s Mixwell being added to the roster.
That looks to be the case, with Movistar Riders releasing a press statement to reveal that not only has Mixwell joined, but Christian “LoWel” García and Aitor “SOKER” Fernández.
Speaking on joining the team, Mixwell said:
I had a dream, and so I told Fernando Piquer when I met him: creating the most solid and international Spanish team of CS:GO history.”
We have worked a lot and sorted many last-minute obstacles to get this dream team, and so the moment to show what we are capable of has come. Nothing is going to stop us once we start oiling the machine.”
Piqure, the founder of Movistar Riders shared similar sentiments, with him revealing how proud he is of this roster:
The road hasn’t been easy, but Oscar had a very clear roadmap. We are proud to have a team like this.”
Most recently, Mixwell had been trialling with G2Esports after his surprise moves away from OpTic Gaming in February after two years with the team. With those esport giants, he won the ELEAGUE Season 2 and came second in the Esports Championship Series Season 2 – Finals.
It is worth pointing out that both Mixwell, and LoWel played together at gBots, and LoWel and SOKER were on the same team at Tempo Storm. This could just give Moviestar Riders are significant advantage leading into their first tournament with the new look roster
