Sad news, NeptuNo pulls out of Overwatch World Cup!
Overwatch player Neptuno has pulled out of the Spanish squad heading into the Overwatch World Cup. The Philadelphia Fusion support was tipped to be a big player at the tournament after helping his country reach the Quarterfinals.
If anyone has made Mercy one of the most popular support heroes, NeptuNo might be that person. In fact, with him being able to play Mercy, Lucio, and Ana and make them all look incredibly strong, he’s a great addition to any side.
Most recently, he played a part in Fusion’s historic run to the final of the inaugural Overwatch League. That did end in disaster, with Fusion getting trollied by London Spitfire, who went on to poke fun at NeptuNo and his team-mates. However, the league on top of some health conditions have caused him to unfortunately now pull out of the World Cup.
In a post on Twitter, NeptuNo revealed why exactly he has decided not to play, and he is sorry.
I am not participating in the WorldCup. / No voy a participar en la WorldCup

And after so many months of non-stop scrims, thinking about the game, what can we improve as a team, what can I improve, how can I be a better teammate, going into the stage and give everything every single time… kidney stone during 45 days, tonsillitis, stomach acid problems, sleep problems …”
I’ve decided that the best for me as a person and player is to not participate in the WorldCup. I want some free time and focus on having fun in the game I love and stop being tilted-annoyed-stressed for a while.”
I am so sorry for those who I may, but this decision is not meant to hurt anyone, just to make me reset. Also, Thank team Spain for everything and I hope they have a good run in the WorldCup; I’ll be watching it and cheering for my country and the players I respect a lot.”
While this is an absolute shame, we will be hoping to see NeptuNo 100% back in action at the start of Overwatch League Season 2.
