Fissure dropped from Overwatch League play-off.
Los Angeles Gladiators were forced to release a statement after they dropped main tank Baek ‘Fissure’ Chan-hyung.
It was a huge shock ahead of the clash with London Spitfire to see Fissure not included; with Luis “iRemiix” Galarza taking his place.
The move by LA Gladiators was unheralded by fans on Twitch who were very confused that he wasn’t included. Fissure is considered one of the best players of the inaugural Overwatch League.
While iRemiix is a very good player, it was such a bold move to rest Fissure; especially before a quarter-final against a decent London Spitfire side.
LA Gladiators Statement

In the statement, the Gladiators didn’t really give a clear reason as to why he was dropped.
The Gladiators believe that the most effective practice and preparation is necessary in order to perform well in playoffs. With that, the team has decided that having Luis “iRemiix” Galarza starting at main tank gives the team the best chance to win.”
iRemix has been training with the team to prepare in the most efficient way for playoffs and recently LED the Gladiators to a decisive win against the Seoul Dynasty during the Last Match of the Season.”
It will be interesting to see if he does end up playing any more for LA Gladiators during the playoffs. Time will tell if iRemiix is a better tank than Fissure.
